I got to sit by Bret during Sunday School today! It's been years! It was nice to look over and see him next to me, eating the kids leftover snacks from the first hour of church. It was nice having him rub my back, squeeze my thigh and hold my hand. It was nice.
I taught the women in our church during the third hour. For the last 6 years or so I have taught children. I was tempted to bust out in a "wiggle song" at the beginning, complete with hand motions and all. I opted against that, but I did provide a treat. Who doesn't like a treat?
We watched the second "Lord of the Rings" movie with the kids. Jonas thought Golum was pretty cool. The girls were glad they had a blanket to hide under during the intense part and I was happy to take a nap near the end.
I played the piano at a baptism tonight. More people should really learn how to play the piano. If you or your kids want to play an instrument, learn to play the piano first. It made playing the flute and the ukulele so much easier to learn! You will be able to read notes, keep rhythm and use that talent A LOT. You're never too old to learn...so get to playing and move into our ward so we have more than 2 or 3 pianists okay?
Bret made dinner while I was gone. I enjoy cooking, so aside from pancakes, (which he is far better at making than I), I am usually the one who cooks. It was so nice though to come home with dinner already made, making me realize that this should happen more often. We will see if Bret agrees...
We spent the evening hours outside. There isn't a time when we are in our backyard where I don't verbally proclaim to any within ear shot how glad I am to have a yard with grass! Countless hours have been spent with friends, or just as family, watching the kids run around, playing soccer together or reading on a blanket.
Yay for grass!!
Bret and I are about to start watching the new episodes of Arrested Development. I am excited with a bit of aprehension...hoping for the best, but knowing that perhaps the new episodes won't live up to the awesomeness that was the first 3 seasons.
We shall see...
