We took a Sunday drive and ended up exploring through some pretty tall grass. The kids loved pretending they were in a huge nest or stalking prey (?). It was all fun and games until Bret reminded the kids that it was Rattle snake season. After all three kids screamed, freaking each other out, they decided it was time to get back in the car.
The evening was spent outside. We had some friends stop by, which proved to be perfect timing since I was making a large vat of homemade spaghetti sauce. I insisted they stay and have dinner with us.
We made s'mores and roasted Starbursts - yes you read that right..Starbursts. Sounds weird but it's yummy. Try it...you're welcome.
Our backyard was quite the zoo this evening. There were 5 dogs, a tortoise, 2 turtles, 10 kids (the oldest was 12) and 5 adults at one point (3 of which were Veterinarians). Watching the kids put one of the dogs down the slide was pretty funny...and we knew that if the dog needed medical attention we had that covered.
Here's to a great ending to a great weekend.
