{Bits}

01.We've had our first set of visitors this week. At one point we had in various spots of the house 3 air mattresses (2 queen and 1 twin) a pack and play, as well as the guest room being used.

It's a good thing we have a lot of blankets and pillows.

More visitors are coming out this weekend and next week. We love having people come and visit. So come on out and visit us!

02.Went to Disneyland yesterday with Bret's sister and her family. While people watching (a personal favorite to do while at Disneyland) I notice two "trends" that must stop!

First, shorts that almost show your butt cheeks or give you a front wedgie when attempting to step over the chain that keeps people in line should never be worn. Come on ladies! Have some respect for yourself...and for my eyes! These "shorts" were every where. UGH!

Second, please check your leggings before going out. Check and see if they are completely see through...you know...to the point where we can see the pattern/print of your underwear. Also, thick tights ARE NOT leggings and should never be worn as such, especially if your top is cropped (don't even get me started on the "oh so cool" cropped tops out there...wow).

03.I have always been a little bothered while reading "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" to my kids because a butterfly comes from a chrysalis and not a cocoon. A butterfly emerges from a chrysalis and a MOTH comes from cocoons.

The nerd in me finally gave in and I looked up online to see if the author, Eric Carle, provided an explanation for this.

So if you were ever bothered by this too or curious as to why click {HERE} for his explanation.

Yes, I took time out of my day to look this up. Yes, it has bothered me for years! Yes, I know, I'm weird. Yes, now I can move on *deep, cleansing breath*.

04.The weather here has been gorgeous this week. This weekend is supposed to be in the 80's. You can bet we will be taking full advantage of this weather and spending as much time as possible outside. Enjoy it before it gets too hot!

05.Get to Target and get a few of their super cute and very comfy maxi dresses. I have a feeling I will be living in skirts and dresses this Summer.

06.Does your husband text you Arrested Development lines through out the day? It will make you laugh and start a quote war going back and forth. Last time it somehow turned into sending Chuck Norris and Snoop Dogg jokes back and forth. It was hilarious...Fo'Shizzle!

07.I buy a fresh bouquet of flowers every two weeks. So worth the $8. They make the room fresh and welcoming.

08.I need a good pound cake recipe. Care to share a simple one you've tried and loved?

Do you want a pound cake in a bundt pan? Or a loaf pan? And do you want it plain or flavored, like orange or lemon?

Thanks again for hosting us and coming to Disneyland with us. We had a great time and only wish we had been able to visit more.

How did I miss those people? Nevermind, Iam glad I did.

My trusted "red book" aka better homes & gardens cookbook has an excellent poundcake recipe!
