{Bits}

01.My kids are obsessed with Squinkies. Thanks to these miniature figurines I have been able to get things done around the house and work on pictures for long periods of time without having to play referee to their playing.

02.Need to sit down today and do the two week meal plan and shopping list. It's something I don't like to do but have found it saves A LOT of money on food. I'm in a bit of a meal rut so if you've got a good recipe to share pass it along!

03.My hair is at the point where it won't do anything. It's been months since a cut and it's time to go a little dark (hello Redken 3VR) for Fall. Maybe I'll have time to get my hair done soon...but I'm not holding my breath.

Do you go darker in the Fall/Winter and lighter in the Spring/Summer - in regards to hair color?

04.I have discovered Words With Friends and I love it. *disclaimer - just because I love it doesn't mean I'm good at it. Egrover14 is my name.

05.My DVR is filled to capacity with shows I need to catch up on. So many good shows on right now. Which ones are you watching?

06.It's supposed to be 89 degrees today. This isn't making me want to bake zucchini bread, make soups and wear jeans. I miss the Fall in Iowa!

07.Sometimes I look at my life and am baffled. I am 30, have three kids, a dog and a house. When did that happen?! I'm too immature to be where I am...what?!!

08.I need some book recommendations. Ready. Set. Go.

09.I am doing a month (or two)of no sugar again. It gets easier every time I do it because when I'm on my "break" I don't want sugar that much anymore ...too sweet.

I decided a milk chocolate and almond Magnum ice cream bar would be the last thing I ate before starting up again. Please tell me you know what I Magnum bar is? It's heaven on a stick, that's what it is.

10.Pandora is usually what helps get me through the day. What's your favorite station?

1 squinkies might be the best toy ever invented! I love them! And they can play with them everywhere. My kids love playing with them in the bath! FYI toysrus has these new little packs with 3 squinkies in them bur you can't see what your getting so it is a surprise. The girls are earning new ones almost weekly! And their cheap!:)

2 I plan my meals on Sunday too! There is a website that I have tried and really like the things we have tried. It whatsfordinner.com and I love pinterest:)

3. I seem to always do the opposite...lighter in winter and darker in summer. But in guess neither really extist here!

4 can't remember what four was :)

5 we are tv junkies at night! We have been watching the middle, modern family, x-factor, and I started watching revenge and the plot was really good!:)

6 I know what you mean it's a 102 here today! I don't think I will ever wear jeans again!:(

7 Aaron and I have that same conversation all the time. And how far we have come since college!:) time I guess. And little bit at a time!:)

8 I just caved and bought the third book to the
Linger series. I will let you know how it goes! And I need the name of that other series!:)

9 you are way stronger than me! I don't think I would ever be able to completely so no sugar! That's will power sister!

10 when I run I listen the dance radio, today's billboard, one republic radio

11 I know there is no 11 but I read your learning post and I am totally with you. Ashlyn's teacher is using this box method to teach long division and she was teaching me how to do it!! I was like what ever happened to good ol working the problem out long hand!! I don't know any concept websites...but that is a great idea!!:)

please share your book lists when you get it. i need some new ones.

three EASY dinner ideas i like - because i like easy:
1. penne pasta with olive oil, tomatoes, good mozzerella (costco ususally carries the good stuff...comes in a tub of water), and fresh basil. so easy.
2. brown rice and black beans. simmer a can of trader joe's green salsa and crack a few eggs in there (don't stir), cover and let them cook 5-10 minutes depending on how done you like your eggs. scoop an egg and salsa on top of the beans and rice and slice avacados on top. super healthy and yum. cilantro would be a good addition.
3. chicken breast wrapped with a slice of cheese and a slice of lunch/deli meat. cover with equal parts sour cream and cream of mushroom soup and bake. serve over rice. so easy.

I am with you on #7.
Everyday I think-
How did this happen?
But it's all good. :)
I watched PanAm and liked it.
And I started watching Modern Family after you recommended it.
Really funny.
And never had a Magnum.

The Help, Saving Ceecee Honeycutt, Half Broke Horses, The Glass Castle, The Book Thief, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society were all faves for me this year. Saving Ceecee Honeycutt was most recent. LOVED every dripping southern word. It's like The Help meets Secret Life of Bees.

Oh, I love putting on Pandora when I'm cleaning or crafting/sewing. I usually listen to the "Sarah Brightman & Andrea Bocelli" chanel...probably not a normal choice, but the music is beautiful. :)

1. I guess my kiddos are too "old" for squinkies. ha
2. Not much for meal planning until the day of. :)
3. My hair is bright blonde year round. I wish it was dark brown, but I tried to color my hair red one time and apparently I'm just suppose to be blonde. Wasn't a good idea!
4. Words With Friends = Awesome! You beat me so you aren't doing bad at all! ha
5. My two DVR's are full. We are a tv addicted family. I watch the following: (don't stroke, some of these I do not get to watch until the summer hiatus) Desperate Housewives, True Blood, Big Brother, Survivor, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, Auction Kings, Storage Wars, Operation Repo, Ridiculousness, Modern Family, CSI: Las Vegas, Secret Life of the American Teenager, The Biggest Loser, The Big C, Dr. Phil, How I Met Your Mother, Mike & Molly, Two and a Half Men, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Person of Interest and I'm sure there are more that I can't remember... Whew!
6. It's a wonderful 75 degrees here in South Arkansas. It was 94 yesterday though.
7. I'll be 32 in December...UBER WEIRD!
8. I'm reading Mockingjay finally and afterwards I am going to read Night Road by Kristin Hannah and Delirium by Lauren somebody. Someone recommended The Mazerunner series to me yesterday that I can't wait to read and also a Ice and Fire Series by George R.R. Martin? that I plan to read.
9. I'm starting month 4 of my "diet". I have only had one piece of pizza in that time and it is killing me because I LOVE pizza. Sugar is not really my thing. I've lost 46 pounds though!
Never had a Magnum, but I have seen the ads with whats her face that played Summer on The O.C. on them. :)
10. I listen to Pandora at work constantly. I go from Adele to Enya to CCR to Tupac. Very different styles mixed up through the day.

Have a good weekend!
