Summer checklist - Corona Del Mar beach}

We try and explore a new beach each time we go. The beach of choice we went to this time was Corona Del Mar beach and it was wonderful.

Big enough waves for some good boogie boarding but small enough that I'm not afraid my kids will drown; large caves to explore, volleyball nets set up with professional players practicing and signing autographs, fire pits, clean bathrooms (for a beach bathroom), showers, and soft sand. With all these positives it's no wonder a lot of families with small children were there.

I'm sure we'll be back for a visit SOON!These little sand crabs can be found everywhere just below the sand. They dig fast but you can catch them if you dig right after a wave breaks. Personally I think they look like giant Lice...nasty!I was feeling under the weather that day and wasn't much help. Bret wanted to capture my "sunny disposition" for posterity.After having him make a fast break to the ocean any chance he got I finally decided to bring the ocean to him. He sat and played with the water and sand for an hour!We are looking for suggestions of your favorite beach here in Southern California. If you've got a favorite and would like to share, please do!

I am so jealous of your warm beaches! It has to be over 100 degrees here before I can go in the water. It looks like such a beautiful beach! With clean bathrooms??? We just might have to make a trip down south! :)

Also, you look H-O-T! Your suit is so cute (where did you find it?), and you look great!!

I used to live in Corona, and our ward always went to corona del mar for activities in the summer. I really like balboa too, right by the pier. I'm sure you've been there, but there have been dolphins close to the shore the last 2 years I've gone. There's tons to do there, too. And, I love Crystal Cove for the beauty.

go to balboa island and get a chocolate dipped balboa bar (with peanuts and sprinkles) and a hippo cookie from Dads. The ferry is fun, and the beach is fab.
