{Bath time + science lesson}

Yesterday's Summer activity said "play with balloons" (how we decide on a simple Summer activity will be covered in another post).

After playing with the balloons all afternoon (talking about *static electricity using balloons, playing "don't let the balloon touch the ground", etc.) Jonas just wasn't ready to give up the balloons, so we threw all the balloons into the bath.He had a blast. I guess I should never under estimate the entertaining power of a blown up balloon.*Teaching about static electricity:
Sprinkle a little pile of Pepper on a flat surface (we did a plate). Have kids rub balloon on hair (fast) multiple times then hold the balloon above the pile of Pepper. The Pepper will fly up and cling to the balloon.

Next have kids rub hair with balloon (creating friction) and then hold balloon above head and watch their hair fly up to the balloon.

You can also rub balloon and stick it to the wall.

Store balloons in a garbage bag and save for another day.
