{Words of comfort}

After realizing I would be away from my children and husband while in New York next month I admit a bit of anxiety started to build. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to spend some me time with my best friend in NYC, but the longest I've ever been away from my family and spouse has been 4 days and that was one time.

During a conversation with Bret regarding my concerns...Jonas forgetting me by the time I get home, making sure to feed the kids something other than cereal and junk food, the frustrations of getting him to take a bottle, doing the girls hair, etc., Ella slowly approached, grabbed my hand and in a very sincere voice said to me "Don't worry Mom if you crash and die Daddy won't be able to find another Mom as pretty as you...well maybe".

Awesome. Now I need to worry about plane crashes (where'd she come up with that?) and pretty ladies trying to play Mommy with my kids. Thanks Ella, that's exactly what I needed to hear.

*I realize the picture doesn't have anything to do with the story but it's a current favorite picture of Ella. It was taken the other day when the other kids were napping and we were having quiet time. It was one of those moments when you look at your kid and are amazed at their awesomeness.*

On a completely different note:Earlier this week we went on our first family bike ride of 2011. Excitement from all 5 of us was expressed as we rode around. It means that longer warmer days are just around the corner.

Yes please!

I am cracking up at Ella's comment, we've had a few similar comments at our house, and I'm always left with my jaw dropping.

Hahaha. That is awesome! Oh kids.

And I'm going to Alt. Thursday/Friday. I'll be coming home at night but will be gone all day and I'm so sad. I've never left Rilo for more than a few hours! I can't imagine a few days! I'm sure you'll have a blast though.

How funny! But not at the same time. I love the last picture of Jonas. I'm just jealous that you guys get to go on a bike ride. And in shorts!

Haha! Ella's comment is so funny. I've heard similar mouth left hanging open comments around our house, too. I'm sure there are many more to come! Also, the picture of Ella is beautiful. I love those moments where you are just left in awe of these amazing little people.

I am so excited for you and your trip!!!!
