{Surgery Day}

Yesterday just happened to be Bret's surgery day at work.

Mailee always has questions for him on his surgery day. Did he save any animals. Was there blood? Did you cut them open? Did they die?

Yesterday, however, she had another question...or request for McVet. Her precious unicorn Pillow Pet had been injured and she just knew that the animal doctor could fix her right up.

So on his lunch break, Bret performed one last special surgery at home. On a unicorn Pillow Pet.

I naturally had to get off my sick behind and take some pictures to document this first ever surgical event.

The "wound".

The surgery pack.

Draping off the surgical site.

Doctors notes:
"Assessed the open dislocation of the tail, was concerned about the vascular supply to the tail determined that could do a reduction of the dislocation.

After sterile surgical preparation, debrided the wound and sutured the tail back on with 4/0 nylon and a straight needle.

Unicorn recovered from anesthesia in a padded stall and appears to be doing well.

Owner is advised to refrain from twirling unicorn by the tail and tug-a-war with dog."

Both Mailee and Jonas handled the worry and stress a bit different. Mailee fretted and worried...Jonas...well he just ate away the stress.

p.s. In case you're wondering the Unicorn is expected to make a full recovery. Yes folks, no worries....HER HORN CAN STILL PEIRCE THE SKY! hehe (plese tell me you know what I'm talking about).

What a sweet story. Children are filled with such faith and trust. How fun that you and McVet made it such an "official" operation.
