{Re-thinking}

Our anniversary present arrived the other day.

I had my heart set on the new TOM'S wedges for my present but when these stools came back into stock in the right height for our bar I had a change of heart.

I love them! They do however, make my dining room table/chairs look out of place when I walk into the room.Now what to do with our too traditional looking table and chairs?

I know I want to get rid of the chairs if we decide to keep the same table. One side already has a bench and another would be added if we go this route. I would then need to figure out what chairs to put in the ends?

I was thinking Ghost chairs to keep the space feeling open, or maybe some matching metal chairs? I need some suggestions!

Or...replace the whole traditional looking ensemble and go with something like {this} or {this}

What do you think? Give me some good stores, sites, ideas, opinions...PLEASE!

First, those bar stools are awesome! I really like the metal chairs, they would go with the stools perfectly :) But I also LOVE the terra dining set on the last link. It is beautiful!

You could paint the chairs a fun bright color. That would be nearly free option. Ghost chairs are wonderful, but pretty exspensive aren't they? But I LOVE them. You could do a hodge podge of chairs like metal, ghost, wood, etc to add to your "vintage modern" vibe you are going for. I'm look at the pic from my iPhone, so I can't see it too well, but it doesn't look too bad...

First... I don't think it looks that bad from the picture.

If you are keeping the table I think painting the chairs could possibly work or I definitely like th metal chairs... those are awesome.

If you want a new table set I love the one with the bench but I don't know if that would go that great with the metal either?

Hmmm... I'm definitely not good at decorating and you always seem to figure out the best ideas!!

I like the idea of keeping the table and mixing up the chairs. It's "all the rage" on the design shows right now. (Although I myself have been coveting that West Elm table...) I like that your table has traditional lines. And those stools are super cool! Great find.

nice! are those the same ones crissa has? i know she got some metal stools too-super cool!if you're wanting to save $, then keep table and paint chairs or mix them up, as suggested in previous comments. however, if you're wanting a new table-i'd so go for the 2nd choice-love the dark!

Go with the metal chairs if you choose to keep the table. Or ditch the traditional table and go for the Terra Dinning set - love it!

Mix and match!
I think that kitchen chairs are the ideal place for a lovely collection. I love that my girls fight over "the tiny chair" and the "blue seat chair" and "the grandma chair".

HEART the west elm table.

Prob wouldn't go with metal chairs. Too much metal for me, but I like the idea of some more modern wood or the ghost chairs.

Love the stools!

Isn't that just how it goes? You buy something new that you love and then realize it doesn't go as well with something else and that you need something new to go with it? Story of my life :)

I love the west elm table too. I think your table that you have with a mix of chairs would work well like everyone else said, too. That would save money :) But if you can buy a new table it's a good excuse to! :)

Right now I love mix and match everything.

Keep the dining table and get some modern chairs. Maybe 2 of these for either end in white:

and a 4 of these, 2 on each long side in white for the sides sides:

I know ghost chairs are popular, but I'm not a total fan...

Where'd you get your stools? {you can consider that rhetorical if you want ;)}That's just what I'm looking for! I was considering "ghost" stools too, but these make more of a statement. LOvE THEM!
