Her and her also make amazing quilts...FYI.***
Yesterday we moved out everything from the guest room (which will be the girls room) and prepped it to be painted. We're hoping by the weekend their room will be finished (with the exception of a few decorations and shelves) so they can start adjusting to sharing a room.Any tips on how to make the transition to sharing a room easier on them and me? Both girls take naps from 2-4 everyday, however Ella reads for a good 45-an hour before she naps. Should I have them sleep in different rooms still for nap time?
Your advice on having kids share a room would be much appreciated.
Speaking of advice/suggestions...

A few things that I'm starting to collect for #3. I know I've said this before, but I'm having such a hard time finding cute boy clothes. There are cute clothes but they are all just the same...polos, stripes and plaid. Anything else out there?Do you have a favorite store/website? What do you have your baby wear to church when they are little? I would put my girls in dresses even as a newborn for church but what do you put a little boy in?
Help!!!

OOH...sharing a room, I have no advice on. So sorry.
Those little wooden cars are the best! Dollar spot, right? I bought Cole a few and he loves them!
More than 70% of Cole's clothes are from the clearance section at Target. They always have tons of solid, plain colored t-shirts in both long sleeve and short sleeve, if that's what you're in to. I am. I usually don't pay more that $3 for a shirt. A couple weeks ago they have a bunch of solid colored sweatshirts on sale for like $5. I got 2 grey ones, in two different sizes. Boy shopping is SOO hard, but really satisfying when you find stuff!
Oh, and I'm all about girl jeans at baby gap for Cole. Sounds weird, but he just looks so cute in fitted jeans rather than huge wide-legged stuff. You can probably find stuff on sale right now too. Most of their girl jeans don't have any embellishments on them, either. It's great!
One more thing...Church clothes for newborn boys are so hard to find. White shirts DO NOT EXIST smaller than 12-18 months. I just had a couple plaid button up shirts and khakis for him. Also, remember that tie tutorial I had, you can make one of those :)
Most of the girls who had babies at the same time as me just put their boys in sweats and cozy clothes, but I was all about Cole in his Sunday best :)
My girls will eventually have to share a room too, so I'm interested to see what everyone says. I can't believe Ella still takes a nap everyday. Gwen stopped napping when she was 2. What time do you girls go to bed at night?
I LOVE that quilt. Where did you get it? Did someone make it for you? I have no advice on the boy clothes either...I probably never will need to buy boy clothes. We're destined to have all girls I'm sure. The stuff you have so far is so fun. Not the normal baby boy stuff, and I love that.
For my boys for church (until they fit other stuff) I always dressed them in one piece polo outfits. I can find plain ones without trucks etc. usually at Gap or Childrens Place. My boys have NO problem sharing a room, but they are not light sleepers! For naps I would just put one in my room and one in their room.
PS cant believe Ella still naps! How lucky are you!
I think they could nap together. IF they sleep together they should be able to nap, right???
I always had either a sweater vest with a polo, a collared shirt or just a polo for Mason to wear. Right now he's got a shirt and tie for church but that just barely came about. He still just wears a polo with khaki's once in a while...Good luck!
I was really nervous about putting my kids together but honestly it's no big deal. It will probably take a couple days to get used too and then you won't believe that you worried so much over it. At least that's what happened with us.
For church I like these little ties. I make them in every pattern and that way Jack and Charlie can match.

For my clothes I mostly shop at garagae sales.
yep...hard to find boy clothes for sure! i love little polo outfits you can find at ross and marshalls. janie and jack is my other favorite. sometimes you can find adorable stuff there. at first i just put beckham in comfy stuff for church...when he got a little older he wore sweaters and cords.
where did you get that great quilt?
boden is cute. h&m. if you were in england i could recommend some other places. :)
i love old navy for boys. it's cheap and they have cute aloha shirts there. or, go to up&riding.com. they have quiksilver, volcom, and all the surf brands for babies/toddlers.
Baby Gap has some CUTE baby boy churchy/eastery stuff right now!! And old navy always got something cute in 0-3 months!
But seriously...I LOVE that quilt!! Please tell me you bought it somewhere and I can get one??!!
little boys wear little cute khaki's and polo or button down with sweater vest or at first, little cute blue rompers to church! :) ex-nay on the sharing a room...that would be WAY tough!
My favorite store to get little boys clothes is OshKosh. They are really durable, which for a boy is super important. A lot of times we put Matthew in overalls for church. They were dressing looking, but not squishy around my chubby baby's middle, like pants.
No lie, I am currently working on a quilt for Brett in that EXACT SAME MODA FABRIC! Good taste.
For boy clothes, I like Children's Place or Old Navy. CP has some purple button down dress shirts that I'm getting for my boys.
Love the Vans! They are a fave in our house too!
that is a darling quilt! I am in the same dilema but a little different. We are trying to decide if we need to move into a 3 bedroom just for a year before graduation or if we can stick it out in our little two bedroom. Not sure what to do, thinking about two kids sharing a room stresses me out! Good luck!
I love that my kids share a room, it teaches them so many things and provides them with lots of fond memories. Hearing their giggles drifting each night from their room is the best! Of course, hearing their screams is the worst... good luck! Not sure how to "transition" since we did it so long ago and Natalie was a baby. I do remember though that it completely messed up naps (I split them up for that) and that is when Will dropped his nap. Ugh. Amazing to me that Ella will read for an hour! She is probably needing to transition out a nap anyway with school starting next year, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Can't wait to see the finished room!
Children's place is one of my favorites for boy clothes! LOVE their clothes!!
I love all the basics for boys clothes:Carters, Target, Old Navy, Gap and Children's Place. Some stuff at Crazy 8 is ok. When my boy was a baby (almost 4 years ago) I bought white and also blue gingham dress-shirt onsies at the Gap. They were really cute for church. Dressy, cute with cords or khakis and they never came untucked. They were my favorite. Good luck. Can't wait to see the rooms all done.
I would not loose sleep over trying to find cute clothes for boys. You will soon learn that it does not matter how darling the clothing looks, it will be destroyed. Better not dress him in something that you would be heart-broken to see stained and worn in the knees. (That's just my two cents, but with three boys, I think I'm validated in giving my opinion.)
my favorite site for boys clothes is mini boden. Pricey but SO cute and they last forever. Garnet hill has good boy stuff too. I was on the other day and saw that they have the cutest little shark booties, on sale for $6! If I had a baby boy I would've snatched em up!
Charmed Life sells dress shirt onesies...

Leah made me a quilt too and my Lilah LOVES it!! Its so pretty and colorful! LOVE the colors she chose for it!
i want her email address!! for to copy her. and i'll add to your boy list: babystar, ittikid, see kai run, and thefullspectrum on etsy.
Yes the options for boys are limited. I'm a children's portrait photographer... and I just MELT when I see baby boys in corduroy!! Corduroy is adorable. I don't know why.
I found your blog through Lelsey's. Osh Gosh B'gosh has white button up collared shirt onesies (3mnth, 6 mnth, 12mnth). Also Children's Place has cute "church" shirts.
I am a southern girl and I am not sure our styles would quite fly for church out in Cali, but for what it is worth my baby boy was in plaid bubbles with his monogram, smocked jon jons (named after John F. Kennedy, Jr - apparently he wore many of these in the White House as a child), and longalls - that were either smocked or monogrammed. People would probably look at me weird out there, but here that is what good, old southern girls put their little boys in. The other stuff really does look all the same doesn't? Definitely not as fun as shopping for the girls. Good luck - and LOVE the quilt!
Oh, I forgot, I found some darling stuff through Pottery Barn Kids. Their "Threads" line has some smaller sizes for baby boys - example, argyle vest with white and blue seersucker pants - it was ADORABLE last year and my little guy wore it quite a bit to church. :)
Childrens place has white sunday shirts starting at 3-6 months. I had my boys wearing their normal dress shirt and sweater vest or sweater and dress pants at 2 weeks old. The first week they are too small for their jammies so tere was no way they were fitting into their real clothes! the second week I put them into the way too big clothes anyway cause they were just too dang cute!
And that quilt by the way is the exact same one that Devn's mom made Greg but in different colors!!! I love it!
And lucky you that both girls still nap! Ellee won't go to sleep before 11 if she takes a nap!
I don't really have a particular place I find my son's stuff where I can but one thing that drove me crazy was that dress shirts where too short to stay tucked in. A friend of mind had the most clever idea she cut off the top of a onesies and sewed it on the bottom of the shirt and it stayed tucked in.
My girls share a room, and have since Katie was 6 months old and Anna was already done napping by that point so I don't think I have any useful advice at all. Except that you'll work it out :) You'll figure out what works for you guys, and I think your girls will love sharing a room. I would split them up for naps, though. I can not believe Ella naps. You are one lucky mama. I would do everything I could to preserve that!! :)
As for little man clothes, today Blaine wore brown corduroy pants and a cute button up really light blue shirt, I thought he looked adorable. They're both from Janie and Jack which is one of my favorite places to find church clothes for Blaine. I've always put him in "Sunday" clothes, from the first time he attended church :) I found a really cute little sweater vest and polo in 0-3 with some grey chinos. So cute. I'm so sad he grew out of that outfit. You will find cute things, don't worry!
hey beauty. u know me, with 4 boys i have some good clothing hookups...
go to this post to get all the links. i think my boys' entire wardrobes are from a mixture of these sites, and target. LOVE THEM.
