{Garland of love}

Although I love any excuse to celebrate the love I have for those I care about Valentine's day isn't a holiday that is made a big deal around here. Yes Valentines are made for friends and for each other and the traditional "risque" candy gram is made for Bret but the celebrations end there.

That being said, when you have two little girls who love to do crafts and the colors pink and red your house will have some sort of Valentine's craft or decoration every February.

Yesterday we enjoyed chatting about deep things such as The Tower of Terror ride at Disneyland, names for the baby, which princess has great hair and why the girls can't wear Retro Red lipstick on a daily basis - all while making a lovely cupcake garland.

I'm just grateful that we were able to avoid glittering everything in site this year.
I'm sort of in love with the cheap Retro Red lipstick I got for this project.

Do you celebrate Valentine's day? What traditions do you have associated with this holiday?

We sort of celebrate Valentine's day, but not really. Last year I sent Matt one of those tiny...TINY love letters (world's smallest postal serivce...$8.00). That was pretty much the extent of it. It was cool, but not SUPER cool.

You make me excited to have girls!!!!

Funny, I just wrote a post about traditions! When I was growing up, my Mom always had Valentine's socks, a coordinating t-shirt, some sort of heart accessory and card at the breakfast table. We always loved waking up that day to find our special presents!

So cute and fun! I need to do something fun with my kiddos. I've totally been a bad mom lately. The past few years we've had a heart shaped pizza delivered. We make sugar cookies and valentines. I try to make something special for each kiddo so they know I love them. That's about it.

I love that cute Valentine craft! Brooklyn has that same color lipstick from the dance recital last year and she would wear it every day if I let her...

Erica, what a cute family you have! Your girls are darling, and I'm happy to see you are all doing well. I think you'll love having a boy. My boys are so silly, crazy, interesting, and hilarious. I'm in the opposite situation---just getting used to what it's like to have a girl! Fun. I liked your post on Megan's blog yesterday, too. Have a great day!
