Bzzzzzzzzz! Bzzzzzzzzzzz! Ah the lovely sound the little drill makes when the Dentist is playing in your mouth. Not my favorite sound. Nope.
Something else that's not my favorite...gagging. I have a horrible gagging reflex and that doesn't bode well when at the dentist.
I've been under the weather with a horrible sinus infection/cold since Thursday, souped up on Tyenol with Codeine and Sudafed (approved by my OB of course) and dealing with a gaping wide hold in my back molar from where a filling fell out. That being said finding cool things that I love via the WWW was the last thing on my mind. So no MPM for you.
I have been confused all weekend with my mixed emotions of dred and urgent excitement to get to the dentist. I blame a horrible dentist I had who attempted to fix my TMJ/jaw problems as to why I dislike going to much now. Oh the stories I could tell you!
I mean who loves to go the dentist? Don't get me wrong I like a clean feeling mouth as much as the next person but just thinking about the paste they use to polish your teeth has me gagging! And if you have any work done you can relate to the mouth pain. Mouth pain is second only to child birth I swear!
Have any horror stories you'd like to share about your own dental experiences. I'll be glad to read them after I get back.

Good luck at the dentist. I don't really have any horror stories. I remember one dentist I had took his gloves off right in the middle of a procedure, and finished with no gloves. GROSS!!! Pretty sure we never went back to him.

I had an abscess and had to push my face into the carpet to make the pain slightly less. But I have no fear of the dentist I was relieved when he sorted it all out.
Tooth pain truly is unbearable. I couldnt think even.
I guess I have the stories from the other side of the coin. I worked as a dental assistant and saw all the grody mnouths from people too afraid to EVER come to a dentist until all their teeth were rotten and they wanted us to make it all better. Good luck with your tooth and I hope you found a great dentist!!
OH the dentist! All I can say is thank heaven for Nitrous...aka laughing gas. If I don't have that, my feet end up under my butt. This is the one place I absolutely cannot relax.

Ugh, I hate the dentist! I have a new year's resolution to go this year.
I have never minded going to the dentist, no matter what they do to me!! And, let me tell you, they have done a lot over the years... :-L
Just even thinking of that noise gives me the chills! I love the feeling of my teeth being so clean afterwards, but the gagging on the paste... blech!
I chipped my front tooth on Valentine's Day in 9th grade (it was awesome, oh the 14 year old woes!) and had to go through all kinds of craziness to get a veneer done. OUCH. Not a fan.

Horror story from the dentist here...not going to share but I hve the same fear. My daughter had to get a tooth pulled (my fault) and I almost passed out in the office and told her I had to sit in the lobby...she was totally 100% fine. Came out with a big grin and some drool..."I didn't feel a thing Mommy, it wasn't as scary as you thought." And I can't even brush my teeth without gagging now that I am pregnant, I can't imagine going to the dentist. I got a cold over the weekend too and my OB said Sudafed too...and I can't believe how many snobs out there were like "you shouldn't take anything, pregnancy is meant to be tough". Whatever I say to them! Hope you get to feeling better soon and this all works out. I am curious to what you are having too. I along with 3 of my friends are all having boys in either May or June so I am already guessing boy. :)
I too hate the dentist!!! Also coming from some TMJ issues that I had already and the hygenist leaving me in the chair for 10 -15 minutes with my TMJ locked open while she did who knows what...

I hear ya! Just a couple months ago I had a severe pain in my tooth, which resulted in a root canal, and like you said, it was like child birth! I swear I was down for 2 days and heavily sedated. It was the only way I could function. Tooth pain is NO FUN. AT ALL.
I know this is strange, but I like going to the dentist.
It reminds me of my dear aunt who was a hygenist. She passed away about 6 years ago and I miss her a lot.
I hope it's a little boy...just to mix things up!
Eew I hate the dentist too. I'm sure I need to go to one though I've just been putting it off. Sorry about your mouth pain, I agree it is horrible. Let me know if you find a good dentist!
