{Ode to Costco}

I realize my posts have been lacking lately. I've been so busy trying to finish up photo sessions, directing a show for our ward/church, trying to work the kinks out of our primary program (church again), getting lovelies made for the shop and trying to be present as a mom and a wife, that I just haven't had time to take any pictures or do anything interesting as of late.

I did however make my bi-monthly Costco run yesterday and as always love going there. I'm always tempted to buy all the children's books and stock up on things we don't really need in the dessert and candy sections. What are some of the items you love at Costco?

Here are just a few of mine:
+croissants - the best I've found
+rotisserie chicken
+Chocolate cake - my favorite
+apple pie
+chicken pot pie
+pineapple - always sweet
+Cheesecake Factory cheesecake - a whole one for the cost of a slice at the restaurant
+IZZE's
+children's book selections
+carter's sleepers

Are you a Costco fan or a Sam's club fan? I know I've said this before but I'll say it again...
Costco = Target, Sam's Club = Walmart

we have asda here which is owned by Walmart. They are the largerest (as in actual/floor size) of the supermarkets. Where as Tescos probably have the majority of the £££'s spent there. It is something like for every £10 spent in UK, £8 is spent in tesco... Something like that anyways...

Arent rotisserie chickens the best when you are busy. And in some cases over here it is cheaper to buy one precooked than to do it yourself.

What are carters sleepers? I havent heard of those before

love love love Costco! I totally agree with you on the Carter's PJ's and the Children's books. Always a great selection there and you can't beat the price! Costco is a dangerous place for me :)

I have cards for both Sam's and Costco, but I end up at Costco most often...

BOOKS
Omega 3 eggs
frozen wild salmon (individually vacuum sealed)
rotisserie chicken
almond butter
milk
clothes (I always look)
flash drives
frozen chicken tenders
Activia yogurt
Huge bags of M&M peanuts
real bacon bits
there is more but I need to get back to work... :-/

I don't shop at either and I've tried both. I've decided that until I have 4 or more kids it's just not worth it. We spend way too much money.

We don't shop at either... but I'm thinking we'll pick Costco when we finally do a membership there.

My husband has a close relationship with both Costco and Sam's. He shops there often for events and he is currently working with local Sam's Club's and Costcos to book their employee Christmas parties. There are distinct differences in the two. Costco give employees benefits and Sam's doesn't. Costco spends almost double what Sam's spends for employee events.

As for what's best to buy, Ethan says that the meat selection is best at Sam's Club but the sheet cakes are better at Costco.

Either way, I can't go to either. I end up spending way more money than I ever intended to.

Costco for sure. I HAVE to have their chocolate cake every birthday. I also love the Potstickers and Otis Spunkmeyer Cookie Dough!

Sadly, costco is sort of a dirty word in our house, since my husband was a buyer for Sams Club/Walmart. Not sure if Costco has em, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the soft pretzels they serve at the pizza/hot dog counter. yummy. There is no comparison.

I love cheap gas from anywhere. Costco and Sams always win at that.

I love the individually flash frozen salmon fillets. perfect for an easy dinner. And SUPER cheap when purchased frozen in bulk!

Um and don't forget SAMPLES. Best thing for sure.

You are just like mom when you buy at Costco. I am sure you have well stocked supplies even when you won't need or use them right now. I still remember when I did all of the shopping and would take you and your brothers to the store. You were most helpful!

Oh...the menu looks like it will be great based on what I see on your counter top!!!

I have memberships to both, but my true love is Costco. The PJ's, books, churros for a $1....hello! But there are some convinces at Sam's, I LOVE their whole wheat flour tortillas.

Costco all the way!

In our cart you'd find:
Food court pizza
FRUIT!
Tillamook cheese
Diapers
Stacy's Pita Chips
Potstickers
Chicken
Books
Cards - the 20 pack of playing cards...honestly, Josh asks to buy them every time we go...we already have a huge box at home! He's nuts.

And anytime there are coupons, we stock up on laundry soap, printer ink, deodorant, razors, vitamins, etc.

We LOVE Costco!

Yes to Costco, it is Jason's favorite store. We go there just to walk around, lame I know.
My favorite things there are the carter's sleepers and the Chocolate cake... snuggy jammies and chocolate what more can you ask for.

Can I just say how much I love that your posts are about the California weather. It is funny not to be in California this year for the fall and the winter. Such a nice change to be able to wear sweaters.

ps - Costco is the bomb!

I bought so many of the same things on my Costco run this week! :) We go to Costco all the time, I love, love that place. So do my kids, they love the samples! :)

Things I love Costco for:

Bag of broccoli
Frozen chicken breasts
All of their produce, we get whatever is in season.
Dishasher soap
Kirkland brand disinfectant wipes
Sleepers
Yogurt
Orange chicken
Tortillas, they're worth the extra step for sure

I could go on....

I love Costco. And I completely agree with your Costco = Target, Sam's = Walmart analysis.

I like Costco's bread (it's cheap and filling) and apple pie (the best I've ever had), organic apple's, Tilamook cheese, salmon burgers (SO GOOD), organic tortilla chips, fresh salsa, IZZE's, and pretty much everything on your list. I have not tried their chocolate cake or croissants yet. There is one thing that I love about Sam's and that is their excellent price on Pampers diapers.
