I'm off to Iowa for the next 5 days.*Daily schedule for Bret - check.
*Emails out to clients with last minute info - check
*Notes to Ella's school - check
*Reassuring my girls that I will be back - check. This was so sad. Not sure if they were crying because I was leaving for such a long time or because I was going back to Iowa without them.
*Made sure the DVR is fully functional so I don't miss any of my shows - check
*Daily outfits for the girls laid out - check. I know it may seem a bit much but when my kids go out in public I want them to look nice. Wearing 13 different shades of pink - because pink is pink says Bret - isn't my idea of nice. Although I must say I have an AWESOME husband who can do a whole lot more for his kids than most know how to do or are willing to do (evidence).
*Camera equipment - check
*Books for airport - check
*Homesick and not even gone yet - CHECK. This will be longest I've been away from my girls (Bret was gone longer than this when he was on rotation). I know I say I need a break sometimes (doesn't every mom?) but it's so hard to leave. Do you have any tips on how not to miss my little family?

Oh Iowa..I was just there a few weeks ago and you aren't a kidding about the land of corn :) Ya'll are serious about corn out there. I don't know any way to make missing someone easier, but just take pics of them, call them lots and know they will love and appreciate you so much more when you return :)
