After observing the temperature reading on Saturday which read 41 degrees I felt as though I needed to get into my swim suit and bathe in the warm sunshine compared to the -30 degree weather we had earlier in the week! Our friends had the wonderful idea to go sledding and let the kids actually enjoy the snow while it was warm enough not to cause the kids to scream each time they stepped outside!
Who knew there were "hills" in the Midwest?! The pickings are pretty slim when it comes to anything "hilly" around here! I managed to take a few pictures before putting the ol'camera away so I could enjoy the activities.
Ella and her little friend Gage. They are great little friends to each other and we've gotten to watch them grow up, learn how to share, talk, and play together. We're going to miss him and his family so very much in May when they leave for rotations. SAD!After a rousing sledding session full of Mailee face planting into the snow - her mouth full of dirt and an imprint of her face in the snow - and Ella doing the "rocket run" many a time, we headed on over to good old Costco for diapers and dinner. You can't beat a HUGE piece of pizza and hot dogs for $5 buck-a-roos!!
We seriously enjoyed the heat wave, even though it made us VERY antsy for Spring to get here already!! The temperatures are going to drop again, but for now I'll enjoy this little heat wave we're having.
Be sure and click on over to Tangled and True later on this morning for a give away we are hosting. If you've never heard of this site you MUST check it out. It's a wonderful site for women and mothers alike.
Ah, yes...and for your viewing pleasure...please observe and give me your thoughts:

15 people are bringing SEXY back:
I too wanted to go out in the heat wave, but we started potty training yesterday and I figured it wasn't quite warm enough to take David out in his underpants. Have I mentioned I love your blog?
that is hilarious!!! i still like the human tetris thing better..that was classic! haha why do the japanese think of such silly things? haha
I want to cry! That post made me so sad that we are leaving, that picture is soo great! Gage was so excited to see him and ella on your blog!
HA HA! What a video! WOW is all I have to say! I love that picture of Gage and Ella! What CUTE little kiddies!
Wow, that is really interesting!?! I really have no other words.
Looks like sledding was a lot of fun. Love the picture of Gage and Ella!
Sledding...that sounds like fun! That video was quite entertaining.
Two things about that video. Mind blowing and completely amazing.
You should have given a potty warning about the video. Oh, is that wrong of me to laugh uncontrollably at the video? I can't decide which is funnier, the actual game or the way they look participating. I am glad that they can laugh at themselves though.
Thanks for the much needed laugh.
What a bizarre video! That looks SO uncomfortable, and so hilarious.
I can't believe it gets so cold up there for youguys! When you're 30 below, we're at like 5 below and we think we're dying. So our warm spell was in the 50s! yay! And it was so nice. But now it's cold again and I'm mourning the faint idea of spring. Oh how I miss it.
Fun sledding picts. Love them!
I love the picture of gage and ella. I am glad you enjoyed your heat wave! We are currently housebound and it is so not fun!
It's just so weird to know we are in the same country but experiencing extremely different weather. We are getting a lot of rain, but it's been gorgeous weather! Seeing all your fun in the snow makes me wish we had (some) too!
You are right about CostCo, can't beat the good eats and good prices.
I think I've finally found the game that we'll play at my Halloween party this year!
love the video....it gave me a much needed laugh! sledding looked like so much fun! we are stuck indoors this week unfortunetly(Hunter has strep Yuck!)
LOVE the pics! I know you'd think I'm crazy, but I'm getting excited to leave my 60's and 70's for 30's and 40's (although I'm really really hoping we don't get single digits or below....I think I'll crumble!). I can't wait to take some kids (and myself) sledding. So fun!! And that picture of Ella and her friend is SO SO cute!
That picture of Ella and Gage is so cute!! What great little friends, it totally makes me sad for Anna again that her best little friend since they were 8 months old moved away last summer, she still asks about him all the time. How depressing am I? Sledding looks like a blast and I'm glad it was warm enough to go out enjoy all the snow! :)
